Stampin’ Up! hit the jackpot with this darling Playful Pets Suite shown on page 40 or our current catalog!
I am in LOVE with this DSP (Designer Series Paper), the cute Playful Pets Trinkets, Trim, stamps & Dies!! LOVE EVERY piece that have added to this Suite! The pricing point is spot on…only $67.00 for all I just mentioned.
We had a house full of dogs so this Suite spoke to me! The Samplers are easy cuts.
I will list the measurements below.
CAT SAMPLER: All of the cats are fussy cut from our DSP. I backed the one in the upper right with a piece of Cinnamon Cider card stock as I glued the cut out cat and just cut around it to make it pop off the paper. I used the Playful Alphabet Dies for both the Cats & Dog Sampler & cut out the words MEOW (used a hand cut heart for the O) & I/DOGS. I also ran it through my Subtles Embossing folder to give it texture. The small hearts are punched from the Dog Builder punch & are cut from our Flirty Flamingo cs. The bottom right block is stamped with the Make a Difference stamp set shown on page 139 of the catalog. I used this for both the Cat & Dog Samplers. I used a D Block & lined up the letters then went back & stamped in the letters that were repeated. Added a Trinket to the bigger heart & the cat in the upper right with a Glue Dot. The bottom right corner is popped up with Dimensionals.
DOG SAMPLER: Did I mention how much I LOVE THE DSP? It is adorable! I used a die to cut out the dog in the upper left block. I tied a Trinket around his neck to look like a collar & taped it to the back. To make his nose shiney, I used our Fine Tipped Glue Pen & created a puddle on his nose & all the other dogs too….just a dot on the smaller dogs. I tied the black & white Trim & then popped up that block with Dimensionals. I cut out a heart in Real Red cs & popped it up with a Dimensional. I did fussy cut out the 2 smaller dogs as they were printed on the edges of the DSP & too cute to throw away! The puppy paw is die cut & glued on in the lower right block. I used our Adhesive Sheets & die cut it to make gluing them on easier.
These Samplers are super easy to make & love how they turned out!

Her face cracks me up! She looks a little smug while she is holding onto her mouse that she caught! I used the Masking Technique to add in the mouse under her paw. I show how to do this in my video below. I used our Colored Pencils to do my coloring & a Blender pen. For the front flap, I first glued the DSP to the Basic Black 4′ X 3″ piece then tied the Playful Pets Ribbon in a knot off centered so I can room for my circle, then glued it down. I then used Dimensionals to pop up the 2 stamped circles that have been glued together. Don’t forget to watch where you put your Dimensionals as you don’t want to glue your card shut : ) Give this Masking Technique a try if you have not tried before! Happy Stamping!
