Thumping Technique with Stampin’ Up! Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set

Hi Stampers. I’m excited about today’s card made using Stampin’ Up! Thankful Thoughts stamp set.  This came out so cute!!  This handmade thank you card features the “thumping technique”. You simply ink up a stamp using light colored ink & then thump it or hit it with the brush end of a marker randomly, adding additional color to the stamp. The effect of this technique is AMAZING!!

Stampin' Up! Thankful Thoughts With Twinkle Twinkle DSP - Thumping Technique Instructions by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers Studio

Instructions:

  • Cut, score & fold your Pool Party base piece of cardstock
  • Glue together all of your layers on to the base of the card, Night of Navy & Whisper White, your layer of the Night of Navy & the DSP as well
  • Using your Big Shot, cut your Night of Navy square scallop piece using the largest of the Layering Squares Scallop Framelit, & cut the Whisper White square using the square Framelit.
  • Before gluing the squares pieces together, ink your stamp with Pool Party. Using your Night of Navy & Pacific Point Markers, tap or “Thump” them onto your inked stamp. Add a little color using both markers one at a time. I hold my stamp in my hand & turn it while I am Thumping so the markings on the stamp are not in the same direction. You can see in my video my explanation.
  • This step is important as now your ink may be drying, so you need to “fog or huff” on your stamp to bring moisture to the ink. Then stamp your image onto your Whisper White square. You always want to do your stamping first before gluing in case you want to turn it over & redo it.
  • Glue your square layers together. Add Dimensionals to the back of the large scallop Night of Navy layer and pop it on your card front off set from the DSP. I love this look, thanks to Caroline!
  • Tie your bow using the Night of Navy Baker’s Twine & adhere it using a Glue Dot.
  • Life is Sweet! Happy Stamping!

Petal Palette Pocket Card

I am so excited to share this pocket card with you! I love the black and white clean look. This card could be a wedding card or even a gift card holder!

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette pocket card by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers Studio

I used Stampin’ Up! Petal Palette stamp set & Petals & More Thinlits Dies. You can make it this card as simple as you want. On the card pictured below, I added a sweet bird. So many of my customers love birds! It does dress up this card & makes it so sweet! I cut the The Belly Band-both the DSP & Whisper White cardstock length at 6″. It wraps around the back but doesn’t meet in the middle. I was to get more even cuts with my 12×12 DSP this way. I did staple this ribbon on to this card or on some, I punched a small hole on top of my insert & just pulled the ribbon through & tied the bow. Either way works great!

Don’t you agree? I love using the Adhesive sheets to adhere the Die cut flowers. Makes the cardstock become a sticker. I’ll explain more in my video. I did use Dimensionals to pop up the circles to add more dimension! I guess that’s why they are called Dimensionals : )

Shut the Barn Door!

I am in LOVE with this Barn Door Bundle! It has been so much fun designing samples for my upcoming class on March 17th!

Stampin' Up! Barn Door bundle was used by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers to make this adorable sliding door card.

I am a scrapbooker at heart and my idea behind this card was to have a photograph show as the door slides to the left. I take a million pictures & am known to carry my camera where ever I go. I am far from being a professional photographer as I just set my camera on auto & point & shoot!

Stampin' Up! Barn Door bundle was used by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers to make this adorable sliding door card.

Card measurements:
  • Card Base Basic Gray: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Front Panel Smoky Slate: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Front Whisper White panel behind the door: 2 3/8″ x 4″
  • Cute photograph of my son: 2″ x 2 1/4″
  • Inside of card Whisper White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Barn Door Basic Gray (I used a scrap)

This picture is my son, Jonathan & his girlfriend Sarah. They are so happy together! Love them both! I think they are a great addition to my card!

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:

Heart Happiness in Berry Burst

We made this easy card using Heart Happiness stamp set in my February Card Club. I love our new Scattered Sequins Embossing folder for the deep added texture on the back ground. That layer is popped up with Dimensionals. We added the lovely Berry Burst Ribbon underneath the heart & popped it up with Dimensionals so it would lay evenly on top. I did use the Heart Framelit from Lots of Love Box Framelits Dies to cut out this heart. This can be a simple Thinking of you, or I love you or simply Hello card.

Here are the supplies I used to make this card:

Card Base: Whisper White 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Top Layer: Whisper White 5″ x 3 3/4″

Berry Burst Ribbon: I cut 2 pieces each at 4 1/4″, taped one piece around the back & tied the other piece once onto the front

Have fun creating your simple Heart Happiness cards!

Birthday Celebration Time Shaker Card

Birthdays are Celebration Time!  Show them you are ready to celebrate them with this fabulously fun handmade shaker birthday card! Thanks for the idea Terri!

stampin up celebration time handmade birthday card with garden trellis TIEF and sequins by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers

I used our Clear Envelope to create the “shaker” pocket. Stamp your Whisper White square, cut the envelope creating a pocket, add in your sequins & tape the excess of the Clear Envelope to the back. This will make the sequins move & shake around in the pocket. I used Tear & Tape to adhere this square piece to the Lemon Lime Twist card stock. Lastly, I put Dimensionals on the back of the scalloped piece to pop it off the embossed front panel. I used a glue dot to adhere the bow to the front.

Here are the card measurements:

  • Front panel: 4″ x 5 1/4″ Island Indigo card stock
  • Inside panel: 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White card stock
  • Scallop Square: from Layering Squares Framelits (3″)
  • Whisper White square: 2 3/4″
  • Inks: Lemon Lime Twist & Island Indigo
  • Ribbon: for Bow, 8″ Lemon Lime Twist 3/8″ Mini Striped Ribbon from Occasions Catalog

Beautiful Bouquet & Sunshine Wishes Wedding Card

I want to share with you this Beautiful Bouquet & Sunshine Wishes wedding card.  This is one of February’s cards for my Stamp Club. It was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest done by Jan Clothier.  We can always use a pretty wedding card. Wedding cards are fun to make, since weddings are such a happy occasion!  Do you know someone getting married that you could make this card for?  With a few tweaks it could easily be a Valentines Day card, an anniversary card or just a simple “I love you” note.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Bouquet & Sunshine Wishes handmade wedding card by Candy Michael of Candy Stampers

I made this card using our whisper white card stock and a piece of our window sheets. The stamp is from the Beautiful Bouquet set inked in Basic Gray. I love the Silver Foil Sheet along with the Basic Gray card stock to make the hearts pop! The hearts are cut from our Sunshine Wishes Thinlit Dies.
I love the finished look of our Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder.

To adhere it all together I used our Tear & Tape and Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Here are the card measurements:

Card Base: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
Cut the card at 7″ so the front of the card measures 1 1/2″ from the fold or score line (this will be the top of the card)
Cut one piece of Whisper White at 4″ x 1 1/4″ for the top layer & one piece at
4″ x 1 1/2″, use the Layer Leaves Embossing Folder on both of these pieces.
Cut one piece at 4 1/4″ x 1 3/4″-this will be your bottom base piece of the card that the window sheet will glue onto &
your 4′ x 1 1/2″ Embossed piece will layer on
Cut Window Sheet at 4″ x 4″
I used the Tear & Tape to adhere the Window Sheet
